About Maria

My Background

As an endometriosis warrior, I know firsthand the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual toll that chronic health conditions can take—especially when they are misunderstood or overlooked. This personal experience has only deepened my commitment to advocating for whole person care, which honors both mental and physical well-being, particularly for women navigating complex reproductive health journeys. My journey has fueled my dedication to women's health advocacy, particularly in the realm of endometriosis support.

Professionally, I work as a case manager social worker at a local hospital, where I walk alongside individuals and their families navigating complex health and life challenges. I also have the honor of serving on the Board of Directors for a local non-profit committed to serving vulnerable communities. I am a licensed social worker and hold my bachelor’s in Biblical Studies, with a minor in Business, which together reflect my holistic approach to care—blending practical support with spiritual encouragement.

With over five years of professional experience in social work, I have served in various settings that have shaped my understanding of trauma, resilience, and the power of compassionate care, including trauma-informed care for individuals in crisis. My work has included roles in Children and Youth Services and working with survivors of sex trafficking, offering advocacy and support during some of their most courageous steps toward healing.

In addition, my current experience in the hospital setting has deepened my passion for medical trauma work—an often-overlooked area where emotional pain intersects with physical suffering. I am committed to walking alongside individuals as they process complex medical experiences, helping them find meaning, dignity, and healing through holistic, client-centered care.

My background reflects a deep calling to support those in crisis and advocate for systems and practices that recognize the full impact of trauma on body, mind, and spirit.

Outside of work, you’ll find me hosting friends, spending time outdoors, playing sports, walking my dogs, making music, or simply enjoying a good cup of coffee. I believe in creating safe, welcoming spaces for others, and it is truly my joy to walk with you—however long our paths may align—on your unique journey toward healing and hope.

My approach:

I provide therapy that integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a trauma-informed approach, especially for those navigating chronic illness. Sessions focus on understanding how your experiences impact your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, while building practical coping strategies, fostering resilience, and empowering you to advocate for your health and well-being.
